Denomination of the module: BASIC RESEARCH IN DENTISTRY (15 ECTS)


COMPETENCIES AND CONCRETION IN LEARNING OUTCOMES
 

Competency 1: That the students know how to apply the knowledge acquired and their capacity for problem resolution in new or lesser known environments within wider contexts (or multidisciplinary contexts) related to their study area.

Competency 2: The students being able to integrate knowledge and face the complexity of making judgments from an information that, being incomplete or limited, includes opinions on the social and ethic responsibility related to the implementation of their knowledge and judgment.

Competency 3: That students know how to communicate clearly and straightforward their conclusions, and the knowledge and the ultimate reasons that support them, to specialised and non-specialised audiences.

Competency 4: Possessing learning abilities which allow them to continue studying in a way that will be mostly self-directed and autonomous.

Competency 5: That students are able to work in a consolidated research group.

Competency 6: Being competent in the development of research techniques of the field of Stomatology and Dentistry, as well as in the evaluation and interpreting the obtained results throughout them.

Competency 7: Being able to chose the laboratory research technique or techniques more appropriate to the posed problem.

Competency 8: Being competent in carrying out a bibliographical search, oragnising methodologically a scientific correct work, as well as carrying out the pertinent publication and/or the scientific presentation of his work.

Competency 9: Being competent in identifying the level of scientific evidence attributable to the reviewed publications about the research topic that is being developed.

TRAINING ACTIVITIES WITH ITS CONTENT IN CREDITS ECTS, ITS LEARNING AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY, ITS RELATION TO THE COMPETENCIES TO BE ACQUIRED BY STUDENTS

The training activities are aimed to the knowledge and training of the student of those tools that demands the scientific method. Thus, students will be taught and capacitated in the bibliographic citations system and in the veracity analysis in the publications found (5 credits); general regulations of scientific publications and how to make a scientific exhibition as well as in the knowledge and handling of the most common tools of audio-visual presentation (5 credits); ethics in publications and Odontometrics analysis (5 credits).
