Doctoral Programme in Information Technologies, Communications and Computing

In the event that applications exceed the fixed students quota for each year, the academic committee will use the average grades of the degree and master’s degree qualifications that give access to the doctoral programme, as well as any additional qualification, course or prior experience in research.


Besides, if the Academic Committee deems it appropriate, it could ask for an inverview with the applicants. The applicants will be given priority based on the obtained punctuation after applying the previous criteria following the next scale:


Criterion of maximum punctuation:

  • Average score of degree/licenciatura (former Spanish undergraduate degree)/engineering 4 poings
  • Average score of master’s degree 4 poings
  • Prior experience in research and other courses/qualifications 2 points
  • Optional interview (in case it is carried out) 4 points

 

The average scores are calculated from 1=pass, 2=good, 3=distinction and 4=A with honors. To each section will be applied a correction factor from 0,2 to 1 based on the adequation of the qualifications and prior experience to the research lines of the programme.


Regarding to entry systems and procedures adapted to students with special educational needs, Universitat de València has the Unit for the Integration of People with Disabilities (UPD), which ensures the respect for the principle of equal opportunities and non discrimination, and supports the collective of students with special educational needs. The “Service Charter” of this unit (http://upd.uv.es/index.php/cartaservicio.html), informs about quality commitments and rights and duties of users.


Likewise, and according to the Royal Decree 1892/2008, of 14 November, which regulates the conditions for accessing to official university undergraduate degrees and the admission procedures to Spanish public universities, the 5% of places available will be reserved for students who have a recognised disability of at least 33%, as well as for those students with permanent special educational needs associated with personal circumstances of disability, who during their previous academic life have needed resources and support for their full educational normalisation.
