On 19 February, with the sessions held at the Tarongers Campus, the doctoral training sessions for doctoral students and supervisors organised by the Doctorate School for this academic year came to an end.

These sessions, held on the different campuses of the University, have tried to provide doctoral students with the knowledge and tools to control their research project, as well as to describe the international context of doctoral supervision and to analyse the pressure that supervisors are under to train doctorates of high quality in the short term.

The reception of the conference has been very positive among the interested public: a total of 76 supervisors and 52 doctorate students from all areas of knowledge of our University have participated in these sessions and shared their experiences.

Among the supervisors, both 'new' professors (with a small number of supervised theses) and highly experienced ones have participated, which has undoubtedly enriched the work in the different sessions. Moreover, as can be seen in the graph, the supervisors who have taken part in the courses are a good example of the multidisciplinary nature of our doctorate studies, as representatives from thirteen of our centres have taken part, with a majority of lecturers from the Faculties of Economics and Psychology. As for the doctorate students, it should be noted that these training courses were well received, especially by the doctorate students who are in the first years of developing their doctoral thesis projects. It is worth mentioning that the distribution of doctorate students according to their origin is sufficiently balanced among the different areas of knowledge, although students from the Humanities and Social Sciences have been more numerous.
