This seminar will be 23 May 2012 in our Faculty and will focus on raising awareness of new strategies of online tourism marketing. It aims to offer insight on how the emergence of the Internet and new technologies are bringing about changes in the rules of tourism communication. Currently, the Internet, Web 2.0, blogs, social networks or smart phones give the individual a significant role in their relation with tourism and the choice of destination.
Potential tourists are no longer a passive recipient of content which is looked for, generated, published and shared with their community (User Generated Content), favouring the emergence of interactive marketing. This new hyper-segmented yet "multi-connected" environment from the Internet means tourist agencies and tourism have a great opportunity to change from offering traditional campaigns to campaigns which generate conversations adding value and emotional content of interest to the public.
This seminar will be a meeting of specialists in order to handle, study and analyse online communication. Students, professors, researchers and professionals will be made aware of its significance from the sharing of knowledge, trends and experiences.
