Workshop PYNQ - Xilinx University Program

The Workshop PYNQ (Python Productivity for Zynq) will take place on Thursday 24th January 2019 at ETSE-UV. Its main purpose is to present the new open-source project of Xilinx to design products involved in Systems on Chip (SoCs).

The course is organised by the Institute of Corpuscular Physics (IFIC), the Joint Centre CSIC-UV and the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the Universitat de València (ETSE-UV).

Cathal McCabe, Xilinx University Program EMEA, will be the senior speaker of the course. It will start at 9 a.m. in the Boardroom of ETSE-UV with a talk in which the basis of this new technology will be addressed.

Then, a number of talks about the functionalities of PYNQ will take place, including real examples on a platform of hardware.

By using the language and libraries of Python, the designers can take advantage of the benefits of programmable logic and Zynq microprocessors to build more interesting and capable systems.

PYNQ users can now create high-performance integrated applications with parallel hardware implementation, high-speed video processing, algorithms acceleration by hardware, data processing in real time...

PYNQ is designed to be used by a large number of designers and developers, including:

Software developers who want to take advantage of Zynq capabilities and programmable hardware without using design tools such as ASIC to design the hardware.

Hardware developers who want a simple interface and software to create prototypes fast, develop their projects in Zynq and have their designs being used by most companies.
