Dr Ignacio Colomer Hernández, member of the Sustainable Justice in Situation of Global Change (JUSOST) project, participated last 20th March 2026 in the International Seminar “La justicia civil ante los retos de la digitalización y de la Inteligencia Artificial” (Civil justice facing digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence’s challenges), hosted in the University of Girona.
In the framework of this academic meeting, Dr Colomer presented the lecture called “Protección de la información y los datos en el proceso civil” (Protection of information and data in the civil proceeding), a lecture in which he analysed legal challenges arising from data processing in the context of civil proceeding, particularly in an environment increasingly conditioned by the use of digital technologies.
Experts were joined together during the seminar to debate about the main development lines of the civil proceeding facing the implementation of information society’s own technologies, paying special attention to the increasing use of algorithmic systems in the Administration of Justice.
The participation of Dr Colomer highlights the commitment of the JUSOST project to the analysis of digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence impact on the legal field, contributing to reflection upon the necessity to guarantee the protection of fundamental rights in the development of a more technological, efficient and sustainable justice.
