In 2020, the XXIII edition of the Public art exhibition will take place, an initiative organized by the Servei d'Informació i Dinamització de la Universitat de València (Sedi) with the collaboration of the Vicerectorat de Cultura i Esport de la Universitat de València.

Submission period

Until July 13, 2020, at 2 p.m.


Any person of legal age can apply to the contest. Nationality and place of residence will not be considered. You can submit your project individually or in groups. You can only submit a single application and project.


You can submit any type of artistic project. It will be exhibited at the Burjassot Campus of the Universitat de València for 4 weeks during September, October and November. [Map of the Campus in png format]

The following criteria must be taken into account:

  • The project cannot damage university buildings, facilities or any other architectonical or urban structure.
  • The artistic proposals must be adapted to be displayed outdoors. Therefore, the materials and conditions of assembly must guarantee its resistance to weather conditions for 4 weeks.
  • The images used for the development of the project cannot be subjected to property rights. In any case, the artist will be responsible for the use of these images and the acquisition of their rights.


The applications will be submitted by filling an application form that is available in ENTREU, the electronic site of the Universitat de València.

Criteria to assess the projects (up to 10 points)

The judges will take into accounts the following criteria when they assess the projects:

  • The artistic quality of the projects (up to 5 points).
  • The correlation of the project with the objective of the exhibition (1.5 points).
  • Adapting the artistic projects to the campus and their capacity to transform, revitalise and adapt to the environment (1.5 points).
  • Assimilating gender perspective and environmental sustainability in the definition of the projects. (1 point)
  • Its correlation with the lines of research of any research structure at Burjassot campus (1 point).


The judges for this edition is:

  • Irene Ballester, Art critic and member of the Consell Valencià de Cultura.
  • Sergio Rubira, Deputy Director of Collection and Exhibitions of the IVAM (Institut Valencià d’Art Modern).
  • Norberto Piqueras, Section Chief of Exhibitions of the Office of the Vice-principal for Culture and Sport of the Universitat de València.
  • Alba Braza, curator of the Exhibition “Public Art / Public University”

Monetary award

The monetary award for the selected projects will be €2,000. This award will be paid as follows: 50 % after the resolution and 50 % once the exhibition is finished (including dismantling the work and sending a text explaining its meaning to be attached to the catalogue). The monetary awards of the projects are taxable.
