This year visits from the Get to know the University programme will be held online from March 23 to 31.

On March 23, 24, 25, 29, 30 and 31 the University of Valencia will welcome upper secondary school and training course students interested in the degrees offered for the next academic year, as well as the University’s facilities and services. This year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, visits will be held online for the first time. Professors, students and technical staff of the University have worked together to organise the visits through an online platform commonly used at the University.

Last year over sixteen thousand upper secondary school and training course students visited the different campuses of the University of Valencia over the course of four days. This year the visits had to be moved to an online format. The University’s centres will offer, according to a calendar and on a staggered basis, eighteen information sessions about the degrees offered and details that may be of interest to new students. The talks will last around an hour and will take place in the afternoon, from 16:00 to 19:00. At the same time as the broadcasted talks of each centre, a chatroom will be open for attendees to ask questions live that will be answered in real time by professors and administrative staff of each of the degrees and double degrees. The aim is to maintain first contact between pre-university students and the University and provide them with tools and resources that will help them resolve doubts and make an informed decision about their higher education studies.

In addition, university students of each centre have recorded and produced videos in which they show spaces and services that may interest young people who want to study at the University of Valencia. Many of the students that take part in the videos are involved in the mentorship programme Entreiguals, in which student mentors accompany and provide support for first year students that make use of this service.

Lastly, to complete the information provided to visitors, landing pages have been set up. They contain information on all degrees of the University of Valencia, as well as the centre that offers them.

Visits to the 25th edition of the Get to know the University programme are organised by the SeDi Information and Promotion Service, the Bureau of Institutional Communication and the Website and Marketing Unit.
