The Area of networks and communications of our service, finished the past week the reconfiguration of the connections troncals between campus to the network of the University of Valencia.
These changes have allowed to optimise the resources of the teams in the core of the already existent network, achieving a substantial improvement in the performance of the same and to the same time increase the capacity of redundancy and simplification of the infrastructure and of the traffic of the network.
The changes have carried out procurant the minimum annoyance to the users and users, and the lesser interruption in the possible service.
The backbone network that joins the three main campora of the University of Valencia is formed by 6 links of optical fibre that join 6 main devices with connections ethernet to 10 Gigabit/s on which interconnect the different subnetworks IPv4 and IPv6.
The new design will allow in a brief term of time improve also the redundancy in the networks of distribution to disitintos buildings and in the accesses in the teams of the users.
