The Chair for Cooperation and Sustainable Development of the Universitat de València offered on 7 October a training session on the 2030 Agenda in the Master’s Degree in Development Cooperation.

During the training, students were provided with the key elements for a thorough understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): from their background –the Millennium Development Goals– to their fundamental characteristics and principles of implementation at a global level. The training also included elements for students to reflect and develop a critical look on the situation of global unsustainability, the different views of “development” and the potential of the 2030 Agenda to build a sustainable global society. The session combined explanations with discussions and practical exercises on various topics, such as the interconnection between all the elements of the Agenda and the interactions (both positive and negative) that can occur between the different SDGs.

The Master’s Degree in Development Cooperation (MCAD) aims to train professionals and researchers specialising in development cooperation from an interdisciplinary perspective. It brings together people from different academic specialities, professional backgrounds and home countries. In this edition, participants come from Argentina, Ecuador, Spain, Mexico, United Kingdom and Ukraine, among other countries.
