DECHADOS DIGITAL is a type B oriented research project. The study is directly related to thematic priority 2, Culture, Creativity, and Inclusive Society, of the State Plan for Scientific, Technical, and Innovation Research 2024-2027. It focuses on identifying heritage in digital spaces and how this fosters the development of creativity. The proposal is a continuation of the project “Dechados. Inclusive Creativity in Secondary Education through the Relationship between Educational Centers and Museums” (PID2021-123007OB-I00), which analyzed in-person activities through qualitative analysis based on triangulated observation with secondary school teachers and museum educators, identifying the creativity strategies of 17 museums. We propose to analyze the digital resources and educational activities used by museums, incorporating digital environments, thus expanding the research into the digital context. It is also related to the strategic line of Demographic Challenge and Social Cohesion in the areas of intervention of Gender Equality and Diversity, Dependency and Accessibility, and Education. It fulfills the objectives set out in Science Law 17/2 regarding gender mainstreaming for real and effective equality. The team consists of 9 female and 8 male researchers.

Description

The overall objective is to study how the digitization of museums and cultural heritage can impact creativity education. The interest in fostering creativity stems from the demands associated with new scenarios generated by social issues, information technologies, scientific advancements, globalization, and educational changes. Our research hypothesis is that digitizing museum and heritage educational resources available online can promote the development of inclusive creativity in the population, especially among students and teachers. The Creari group, which is promoting this project, has extensive experience in digital museum and educational initiatives, carrying out intensive research and dissemination of results from multidisciplinary perspectives. We promote creativity within the education system, focusing on teacher training and striving to improve strategies in various areas. The team's scientific output is extensive: articles and books, conferences and seminars, and support for student research fellows. The project's expected contribution is to identify online digital resources that can enhance creativity in the arts, history, archaeology, and ethnology. This will be achieved by evaluating these resources based on the creativity criteria established in the previous project and creating a directory of links on the project website. The aim is to identify the main digital educational, museum, and heritage resources in the geographical areas of the team members. The methodology begins with an exploratory study to define the sample, using a qualitative and ex post facto analysis of documents, resources, and proposals based on the inclusive creativity criteria defined in the previous project and in PISA Creativity. The team's expertise and size strengthen the project's execution.
