For several years we have been investigating the mechanisms involved in inflammatory processes. Our work has focused on a number of aspects such as the study of the mediators determinants of the progress of the joint lesion, the possible mechanisms of protection and the main signaling pathways involved, to better understand the pathogenesis of the Inflammatory-based diseases and to find new therapeutic targets. For this we carry out studies in vivo and in vitro. We use different animal models of acute inflammation (rat and mouse air bag, carrageenan edema, dermal inflammation, intestinal inflammation) and chronic, such as rheumatoid arthritis models (adjuvant arthritis, collagen arthritis, Serum transfer arthritis of transgenic mice K/BxN). Models of arthrosis have been developed by ageing: as spontaneous arthrosis in mice STR/ORT, following the temporal evolution of the disease, with biochemical studies of biomarkers in serum and in the joint tissues, radiological studies, Histological, etc. All these determinations have allowed to relate the appearance and advancement of lesions with the age of the animal and propose various mechanisms that can regulate these processes. Animal models of osteoporosis in rats (ACLT ovariectomy) and mice (CIA ovariectomy) have also been developed.
