Municipal and academic authorities take part in the opening ceremony.

The Campus of the University of Valencia in Ontinyent paid tribute this Tuesday to the late professor, writer and member of the Acadèmia Valenciana de la Llengua Carme Miquel i Diego, dedicating the name of its library to her. This tribute took place in a ceremony that brought together municipal and academic authorities, including the Vice-Rector for Culture and Sport, Ester Alba, the director of the Ontinyent Campus, Pedro Pérez, the councillor for Education of Ontinyent City Council, Óscar Borrell, the director of the Library and Documentation Service, Victoria Garcia Esteve, and the president of the Valencian Language Academy, Verónica Canto.

The vice-rector of Culture and Sport of the UV, Ester Alba, emphasised that naming the library after Carme Miquel "highlights her work in defence of Valencian learning and Valencian, and prevents it from falling into historical oblivion". The director of the Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació, Victoria García Esteve, highlighted the services offered by the library, equal to those of the Valencia and Burjassot campuses, and the work carried out by the librarian, Maria José Cháfer Asensio, to provide content and facilities for a small, large library.

The event was attended by lecturers, students, workers from the Ontinyent Campus and staff from the Library and Documentation Service who had travelled from Valencia to accompany them in this tribute.
