Book Day 2019
Book Day 2019

University of Valencia Libraries celebrate Book Day with different activities. In addition, we have launched a campaign on social media with hasgtags #FacesAndBooks #BibliotequesUV #DiaDelLlibre. The campaign encourages users to become "booktubers" with the recording of videos recommending books and readings.

Activities at the libraries

In the Health Library will attempt to transmit the value of reading through two participatory activities to be held on April 16. In "Free your book (bookcrossing in the library)", from 9.00 h. at the Library, we will offer a space for the exchange of literature books. "Literary coffee: reading in the training of health professionals", is a colloquium on the importance of reading in training. In the conference will participate professors of the University such as Josep Luis Barona and Nicolás Bas. The activity will take place at 6 pm in the Faculty of Medicine lobby.

In addition, this week and next will be held different activities in the other libraries. In Psychology Library we are preparing an animation video by commenting on one of its books and panels distributed by the library with famous phrases about books and reading. In addition, a raffle of the book "Les riques hores de Jacominus Gainsborough" by Rébecca Dautremer will be held among the people who deposit a request for a book in the field of sports, psychology and speech therapy in the urn of the loan desk.

At Education Library they have prepared the "Recommend a book" corner to encourage users to participate in video recording. Sciences Library will enable the interactive space "Reasons to read" and the users can send us their reasons to read. The space will be located on the ground floor of the library. In addition, you can record your video in the photocall.

At the Humanities Library, and until May 5th, you can suggest the purchase of a novel, comic book, travel guide or film that interests you and is not in our libraries. Here you have the instructions.

In the Historical Library they prepare some bookmarks with images of some of their works (manuscripts, incunabula and posters), which they will distribute among their users and they will be sent to the departments and centers. And in the Cartoteca, they exhibit from April 8 to 17 a selection of some of their books on sheets and facsimiles to browse and contemplate.

Celebrate the Book Day with us!!
