The 2017 edition of the ‘’Journal Citation Reports’’ was published this week. The ‘’Clarivate Analytics’’ tool provides a classification of scientific journals based on the ‘’Journal Impact Factor’’ and the citations received by the publications.

This new edition incorporates a total of 11,655 journals, although an update and the inclusion of some more journals is pending. The final edition of JCR 2017 will not be available until October.

As regards Spanish publications, JCR includes 119 journals in its two editions, Social Science Edition and Science Edition. For the first time, five publications are included in the rankings: "Clinic and Health", "Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition", "Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology", "Psychosocial Intervention", and "Journal of Accounting".
In addition, 20 journals have been left out of the new JCR by self-citation or backlog of citations.
Under study are other publications that may affect our Science and Health researchers. Clarivate Analytics has detected another possible manipulation of citations to ‘’Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Letters, Journal of Biobased Materials and Bioenergy, Journal of Biomedical Nanotechnology’’ and ‘’Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology’’ (all published by the American Scientific Publishers), and ‘’Bone Research’’ (‘’SpringerNature’’ in conjunction with the ‘’West China School of Stomatology.’’)
