On June 28 we celebrate International Pride Day, commemorating the Stonewall riots (New York, USA) in 1969. Since 2017, the University of Valencia has joined this celebration by raising the rainbow flag on its buildings. This year it will fly again in the Biblioteca Històrica building in Centro Cultural La Nau, the Biblioteca de Cièncias Socials "Gregori Maians” on Tarongers campus, the Biblioteca de Cièncias "Eduard Boscà" on Burjassot campus, the Biblioteca d'Humanitats "Joan Reglà" on Blasco Ibáñez Campus and on the Biblioteca "Carme Miquel i Diego" at the Ontinyent campus.

In addition to several initiatives carried out at the University of Valencia, the libraries have launched a campaign on Facebook and Instagram. The social network accounts have dedicated the publication "The serie of the weekend" and "The comic of the week" to LGTBI-themed series and comics. In addition, the Biblioteca de Ciències Socials "Gregori Maians" has published a video on YouTube that heads this news, the Biblioteca de Eduació "Maria Moliner" joins the LGTBIQA+ Pride 2022 celebrations with a selection of books for children on sexual diversity and identity, respect and tolerance, and other libraries have dedicated their publication of the week to Pride 2022.
