On Friday, 19 December 2025, the new ANECA evaluation criteria for six-year period reports were published in the BOE.

Since the publication of Ley Orgánica 2/2023, de 22 de marzo, del Sistema Universitario, y el Real Decreto 678/2023, de 18 de julio, qualitative assessment has been maintained in addition to quantitative assessment, thus aligning with the principles of open science. Likewise, the number of ordinary and extraordinary contributions remains the same as in the previous call. The ‘Campo 0. Interdisciplinar y multidisciplinar’ has also been consolidated.

The most notable difference is the modification of fields 3 and 4, which are now divided as follows:

• “Campo 3. Biología Celular y Molecular y Ciencias Biomédicas básicas”
• “Campo 4. Medicina y Especialidades Sanitarias”

Another new feature is the division of the deadline for the submission of reports for civil servants and employees:

• From 9 to 30 January 2026 for civil servants
• From 9 February to 2 March 2026 for employees
