Change in the academic direction of Onubib and thanks to the academic director since 2008, professor Jorge Cardona Llorens

On 3 May 2024, at the proposal of the Faculty of Law and with the approval of the Director of the Library and Documentation Service, Ms. Cristina Tomás Martínez, Professor Raquel Vanyó Vicedo was appointed to the position of Director of the United Nations Depository Library (ONUBib), replacing Professor Jorge Cardona Llorens. 

We at ONUBib would like to take this opportunity to bid a fitting farewell to our former academic director, Professor Jorge Cardona Llorens, and to express our most sincere gratitude for 16 years of tireless work, unwavering commitment and full dedication to the centre.

Spain and the UN against climate disinformation

On the occasion of Earth Day, we want to highlight the Climate Verified program launched by the UN in collaboration with the Purpose organization and the Tiktok platform.

Spain has just joined the initiative, already underway in the United Arab Emirates and Brazil.

The program consists of a network of climate messengers made up of scientists, activists and climate communicators to, on the one hand, dismantle the hoaxes that go viral on digital platforms and, on the other, provide quality information on environmental issues through the platform. Tiktok, you can locate their posts on tiktok with the hashtags #Agentedeverificado #verifiedchampions and #ClimateAction

Social Library, in which the Spanish Committee of UNHCR brings us closer to the reality of six refugees.

Currently, the number of refugees and displaced people who have had to leave their homes to flee violence and persecution is constantly increasing. Who are they, where do they come from and where are they going? What are their stories?

We invite you to take a journey to meet Amina, Moheyman, Florance, Kamal, Tateh and Maritza. Listen to their voices and reconstruct their experiences through the objects that have marked their journey.
