Conference on the translation of sonatas and poems by Shakespeare.

On Wednesday, February 7, at 4:00 p.m., in classroom 109 of the Faculty, Professor Miguel Ángel Montezanti (of the National University of La Plata) will give a conference for MAES students on the translation of sonatas and poems by Shakespeare.

MIGUEL ANGEL MONTEZANTI: Professor at the National University of La Plata (Argentina) and CONICET researcher. His areas of study and research are lyric poetry in English and literary translation, especially that of Shakespeare. He is the author of The Crowned Knot. Study of Four Quartets (1994), Strange encounter. The poetry of Wilfred Owen (2002), Hospital visits. The poetry of Philip Larkin (2006) and Seamus Heany in their texts (2009). He has translated English and Scottish Ballads (1980) and, from Shakespeare, his Sonnets (1987 and 2003), The Violation of Lucrezia (2012), Venus and Adonis (2014) and Complaints of a Love (2016), all of them with introduction and notes. As a poet, his titles include: Mirror Hexes (2007), Talking the Slabs (2010) and The Verb of Your Eyes (2013).
