“Paura”, horror film festival in Valencia

International horror film festival Paura arrives to Valencia to bring horror genre audiovisual productions to the Turial capital from today until next Saturday.

During a whole week horror films’ enthusiastic have the great chance to enjoy eleven feature films, eight documentaries, twenty animations, fifty short films and more than thirty amateurs pieces from this genre in the first edition of International horror film festival “Paura.

This first edition has counted with a good reception: more than the 2.000 videos  have been submitted to take part in this event in different parts of the world

The “Paura” event, term which means fear in Italian and which receive its name as tribute to the classic from Mario Brava Operazione paura, will delight spectators during a festival which will be inaugurated with a projection of the film  Huldra, Lady of the forest  (Ove Valeskog, 2016) in Aragó Cinema. The program will also include works as Capture Kill Release, (Canada, 2016) directed by Nick McAnulty and Brian Allan Stewart and awarded as the fest film in ShriekFest Film Festival of Los Angeles or “Presagio” (Argentina, 2015), by Matías Salinas, which won the Latin America Fantasy Prize of  Festival International Fantasy Film of Madrid Noctura in 2015.

 

If you are enthusiastic of this cinematic genre, you have the perfect chance to enrich yourself with the great amount of works which will be projected in Aragó Cinema, but also with the launch of books at Fnac or talks about horror films and famous figures. One of the examples will be impartedby the writer and professor Aarón Rodríguez about Macabre dances: dialogues between David Bowie and the horror film  next Sunday at 19:00 hours . The thing is that the singer participated in his youth in the short film The image, with high horrific content.

 

 

This first edition has counted with a good reception: more than the 2.000 videos  have been submitted to take part in this event in different parts of the world, such as Brazil or Canada.The aim, to be the winners of this festival which count as jury with professionals as Jordi Prisis, audiovisual producer, director and coordinator of the National Short-Movies K-lideoscopi Festival; Teresa Llácer Viel, paint and local and international cinema scholar; and Josevi García Herrero, director of Webseries Prado Real Web Fest de Soto del Real Festival and Spanish and foreign cimena productor,  shortlisted to Goya awards 2006 because of its short film  Ojos de soñador.
