“I bet for the Master’s degree as a via for updating the knowledge I acquired during the undergraduate degree”

22 july 2016

"My name is Elisabet González, I am 27 years old and I am graduated in Law from the Univesitat de València. Also, I have studied the Master’s Degree in Corporate Law, Commercial Consultancy, Labour Advisory and Tax Advice. Nowadays I am Research Staff in Training at the Department of Mercantile Law of the UV, where I am carrying out my Doctoral Thesis

When finishing my university studies and starting in the labour world, I realised that to professionally develop I needed a more specialised knowledge on my field. This is why I enrolled in the Master’s Degree in Corporate Law.

For me, training is essential. I am always trying to learn new things and widen my knowledge to complete my training.  In a discipline subject to a continuous legislative change, it is essential knowing the changes to be able of professionally advancing and developing.

For all these reasons, I decided to enrol in the Master’s Degree in Corporate Law, Commercial Consultancy, Labour Advisory and Tax Advice, as a via for updating the knowledge I acquired during my studies in Law.

Now that I have recently defended my research work and, with that, I have completed the Master’s Degree studies, I take a positive stock of the experience, since it has helped me to get a more specialised knowledge in the field of Mercantile Law, which has been the specialty I chose Also, as my intention was to carry out Doctoral studies, opting in the second year of the Master’s degree for the research pathway has given me the bases to keep going in the research field and be able of completing my Doctoral studies.

What I most value of the Master’s Degree is that it has been essentially practical and that has helped me interrelating the knowledge acquire in the classrooms with the problems the firms face in legal relations. Also, it is really rewarding interchanging experiences and knowledge with partners that have the same curiosity as you.

Another attractive aspect of the Master’s degree is that it has a high percentage of graduates that start successfully in the labour world. In this sense, I want to emphasise that I have combined my Master’s degree studies with my labour obligations, so I encourage every professionals that want to complete their training to take the Master’s degree, since the studies are not incompatible with a job and sure it is a good option for developing in the labour world".
