Seminary of Keysight: Overcoming the Challenges of IoT Devices

Burjassot, Valencia (19 February)

Classroom 2.1.1

Escola Tècnica Superior d'Enginyería

Avinguda de la Universitat, s/n

Are you ready for overcoming the challenges of IoT? If you work with or plan to work with IoT devices you will need to verify that your device honours the planned specifications, whether they are consumption, communications or compatibility. You will need to do It of a quickly, accurately and in an economic way, if you want to have an advantageous position in the market.

In the first seminary, “LPWAN Technologies and their Relevance in IoT”, we will talk about the different wireless technologies of the IoT ecosystem. We will focus the discussion in the technical features and the strengths of some of them (BLE, ZigBee, NB-IoT, Cat-M1, LoRa…), so it is clearer for us to make a decision when choosing which technology to use in our IoT device. We will also see some measurement solutions that it will facilitate the successful development of our device quickly and efficiently.

In the second seminary, “Powering the IoT Device”, we will see different approaches tailored to the consumption of the IoT device, from solutions that estimate consumption to solutions that accurately characterize consumption by identifying critical consumption points during the actual operation of the device and solutions that allow us to simulate the real consumption of the device during the battery test, allowing us to select the optimal battery for our specific device. We will evaluate the advantages of each measurement and compare them with each other to make it easier for you to choose a solution that will help you in the design and implementation of your IoT advice.

In the third seminary, “IoT Device Coexistence Challenges”, we will discuss the problem of ensuring the correct operation of the IoT device in a crowded environment of different devices that may interfere with the operation of your IoT device. It’s preventing your device from affecting the operation of other devices, this stage in the design your IoT device is critical in overcoming the requests of standards and ensuring a rapid exit of your device to market.
