The Master’s Academic Commission sets the qualitative and quantitative admission criteria, mostly based on the candidate’s academic records and the affinities of his/her previous qualifications with the masters subjects. The criteria are used in the evaluation of the applications and the selection of the candidates.

Applicants must submit a CV and a motivation letter. They will be called to an interview in which they will express their motivation in doing the masters and attention will be paid to their potential projects in the area of development aid.
Some priority will be given to those having done activities in the study fields even though experience per se is not an excluding criterion.

Evaluation criteria
1. Potential projects: Student’s ability to apply the knowledge gained in the course in the development aid area on the basis of his/her post, job, situation, etc. The multiplying effects of each individual applicant can be rated from 0 to 10.
2. Motivation: Appraised from the manuscript and the applicant’s participation in cooperation-related activities. It is indicative of the applicant’s willingness to devote his/her knowledge and time to development aid. Can be rated between 0 and 10.
3. Experience: Between 0 and 10. Evaluated on the basis of the experience described in the CV in the areas of solidarity and/or social affairs.
4. Previous education and academic records: Between 0 and 10 points. Academic excellence and the adequacy between the previous studies and the masters are taken into account.

Scoring formula

Each scoring criterion has a specified relative importance equivalent to the coefficient by which the score obtained is multiplied for the calculation of the total score. In this particular proposal, the relative importance estimated is as follows:
Projects= 35 %, Motivation = 35 %, Experience = 15 %, Education and academic records = 15% (the formula is: total score =35•Project + 35•Motivation + 15•Experience+15 Education and academic records).
