The Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness has announced the funding of the ASODAT research project, under the rulings of their 2016 Excellence programme.
The goal of ASODAT - full title "Associating data: Integrated databases of classical Spanish theatre" - is the elaboration of an extended databse that collects documented news about Spanish theatre in the XVI and XVII centuries, gathered by assembling several different databases. The universities of Valencia, Valladolid and Barcelona are coordinating the project.
This project has a strong link to the Master's Degree in Hispanic Studies. Directing the project is Dr. Teresa Ferrer, while Dr. Josefa Badía is also participating in the elaboration of the database. Several PhD students and young researchers of our Spanish Philology department are also part of the team (Rosa Durá, Nadia Revenga), along with alumni and past assistant researchers that now work as teachers and researchers in fellow international institutions, such as Alejandro García Reidy (Syracuse University, New York) or Purificación García Mascarell (Universidad Complutense de Madrid).
