The University of València had the pleasure of hosting the 7th Conference of the International Society for Hispanic Digital Humanities, held on October 22, 23, and 24 at the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication, and the Faculty of Geography and History.
The initiative was conceived with the aim of contributing to debate and innovation in the creation of digital tools capable of introducing an improvement to research methodologies in the Humanities. To this end, the conference included presentations organized into six thematic areas and incorporated the digital perspectives of professionals from all humanistic disciplines. Therefore, the more than 120 presentations offered a panorama of multiple approaches to undertake digital scholarship and enabled connections among diverse fields of knowledge. For this purpose, two types of contributions were coordinated: presentations, grouped into tables according to their thematic focus; and scientific posters, displayed in designated spaces within each faculty. These were complemented by five plenary lectures delivered by prominent specialists from various disciplines (linguistics, museology, publishing, etc.).
In keeping with the cooperative spirit that guided the overall dynamic of the event, thirty collaborators from undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs took part. This group of volunteers worked together to ensure the correct operation of the six parallel rooms where sessions took place each day, as well as the management of the registration desk, poster setup, and attendee guidance. Thanks to the commitment of all members of the organizing committee, the conference successfully fulfilled its motto: ad cognoscendum, agendum vel operandum, that is, a team to learn, act, and work
