Master's presentation

The Department of Spanish of the University of Valencia has a long and recognized teaching and research experience, which is demonstrated by its career path. The Department teaches doctorate courses since its formation as the Department of Spanish in 1985.

Since the implementation of the LRU (University Reform Law) and the creation of the Department until 2002, this one had its own doctoral programmes. Since 2003, its activity has received the positive evaluation of the Ministry, which awarded this one with the Quality Award for its doctoral programme in Theatre, Spanish, Latin American, Portuguese literature and Theory of Literature (MCD-2003-00025), and also for its doctoral programme in Linguistic and Hispanic studies (MCD-2005-00267).

The merger of the two created the current doctoral programme in Advanced Hispanic Studies which also received the Quality Award (MCD -2006-00578) that was reformed according to a Resolution of the Ministry of Science and Innovation, 20-10-2008.

The department has brought enrollment achievement since 2007, the Master’s Degree in Hispanic Studies: Applications and Research (MO 2006-00803), a qualification that expired in the academic year 2009-10 due to the implementation of a new qualification offered in the academic year 2010-11, with the same name, but adapted to the current regulations of official master’s degrees.
