We are looking for a postdoctoral scholar to join our team in Chile. Under the umbrella of a recently funded grant, we seek someone who is interested in developing models of refugia for glaciers under warming scenarios, combining glacier volumetric reconstructions, remote sensing, geomorphometric features, andother techniques.
The position is funded for one year with the possibility of renewal according to performance. The researcher will mainly work at the Concepción Campus, Universidad de Concepción (UdeC), under the mentorship of Dr. Alfonso Fernández, but will interact with the Co-PIs, Dr. Mario Lillo (UdeC, Chillán Campus), Dr.Diego Rivera (Universidad del Desarrollo, Santiago), and Dr. Marcelo Somos-Valenzuela (Universidad de la Frontera, Temuco).
The research team includes undergraduate and graduate students (see www.mgsg.udec.cl for instance), and an international network of colleagues in Europe and the USA. The job includes frequent fieldwork campaigns in the Andes.
Minimum requirements
GIS, remote sensing, scripting languages (Python, R, and Matlab, forinstance) (Quantitative) Geomorphology and/or paleoclimate research experience

Spanish, cosmogenic dating, climatic numerical modeling, machine learning
