The research infrastructure and bibliographic resources belonging to the Departments of Pharmacology and Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology, as well as the libraries of the University Hospitals of Valencia and Castellón, are available to the students of the Doctoral Programme for their training.
The research laboratories are equipped with the appropriate material, devices and instruments for students to conduct the experimental work of their research and the training activities corresponding to their Doctoral Thesis Project. They are located in the building of the Faculty of Pharmacy, in the Faculty of Medicine, as well as in the University General Hospital of València. Other facilities, such as those corresponding to the Central Service for Experimental Research of the UV, are also accessible to students with the prior agreement of the supervisor of the Doctoral Thesis Project with the corresponding Technical Unit.
In terms of bibliographic resources and information sources, the respective departments have specialised libraries. Students can also use all the resources of the UV Libraries, either in paper format or in electronic format accessible to all PhD students from any computer through the computer network of the UV (VPN). The libraries of the respective departments and the General Library of the Universitat de València are available for the bibliographic part and access to information sources, and the Universitat has an excellent computer network installation that allows access to PhD students.
Students have the opportunity to establish contacts with other colleagues in the same field of activity by attending specific congresses in the areas of knowledge involved. It also facilitates the integration of students in other institutions or research facilities for short periods, through various grants and calls from the UV, which are published on the website of the International Relations Service (www.uv.es/relint) or that come from other agencies (such as the Ministry of Education and Science or European networks that periodically announce Marie Curie fellowships).
Research projects funded by grants obtained in competitive public calls usually have economic items that are intended to finance the costs of mobility of PhD students, such as attendance at congresses and short stays in other research centres.
