On November 25, from 11.00 to 14.30, in the B3 classroom of the Institutes Building of Tarongers (29 Serpis Street) we co-organize, with the Platform for a New Energy Model of Valencia, the III Energy and Environment Forum, with the motto Energy transition and economy: an ecosocial perspective.

From the València node of the PLATFORM FOR A NEW ENERGY MODEL (PxNME) in order to promote and make visible a new culture within the energy transition, an open meeting for citizens has been organized for 2 years to make known the need to articulate a new energy model where people and the environment are at the center. The previous calls (2015 at the Polytechnic University of Valencia and 2016 at the headquarters of CC.OO of the Valencia Country) had a political character, involving the main parties of the Valencià Country.

In this new forum that is being organized for next November 25, 2017 the PxNME aims to make visible the role of the social economy within the energy transition and the cooperative practices that exist in the territory.

The forum will consist of two parts, a theoretical one with four presentations and another practice with two others. In the theoretical part, the debate on the right to energy of the people will be addressed so that they can satisfy their basic needs. The contribution of ecofeminism to a new energy model. The role that the social economy will play within the transition, proposing an alternative to the capitalist model and how an ecosocial energy transition can be promoted from the public sphere.

In the practical part will present two different models of cooperative practices in the Valencian territory. The Federation of Electric Cooperatives of the Valencian Community will present us
how it is possible to make another form of economy within the electricity sector and the cooperative AEIOLUZ, its working model within the energy services as a practice of social innovation.
