Managing the volume of data generated by the current society and turning it into knowledge, constitutes one of the main professional challenges, with economic, technological and communicative implications. The Summer School Challenges in Data Science: Big Data, Biostatistics, Artificial Intelligence and Communications, organized by the University of Valencia, faces this challenge in a third edition focused on artificial intelligence and biostatistics. In addition, it is committed to entrepreneurship through the launch of a Start-up workshop.

The third edition of the Summer School will take place in Valencia from June 28 to July 2, 2021, including theoretical and practical sessions aimed to topics such are smart cities, cybersecurity, Natural Language Processing (NLP), assisted remote surgery, data visualization, investigative journalism or the rise of populism through social networks.

From a multidisciplinary approach and with the support of the Utrecht Network – composed of 32 universities from 27 European countries-, the School of Engineering, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Mathematics and the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication organized a summer school aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate students interested on data tools and applications.
