Biographical outline:

José Luis Pinillos was born in Bilbao in 1919. PhD in Philosophy from the University of Madrid and professor of Psychology at the universities of Valencia, in 1962, and Complutense de Madrid in 1966.

He was a disciple of José Germain, one of the main promoters of psychology in Spain after the Civil War.
He was Doctor Honoris Causa for the pontifical universities of Salamanca and Comillas, for the National University of Distance Education and for the universities of Valencia, the Basque Country, Santiago de Compostela, Oviedo, Seville, La Laguna, Murcia and Salamanca.

He was part of the Free College of Emeritus since its creation in 1986 and belonged to the Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences, the College of Psychologists of Spain and the Academy Scientiarum et Artium Europeae.
