Víctor Fairén Guillén was born in Zaragoza in 1921. Procedural lawyer.
He holds a Law Degree from the University of Zaragoza and a PhD in Law. He was Professor of Procedural Law at the Universities of Santiago, Valencia and Autónoma de Madrid, of which he was Professor Emeritus since 1992.
He was appointed as Doctor Honoris Causa by the Universitat de València, was a founding member of the Aragonese Law Studies Council, honorary counselor of the Fernando el Católico Institution, academic of the Royal Jurisprudence and Legislation,
and correspondent of the one of History, as well as member of number of the Spanish Insitute of Procedural Right and permanent vowel of the General Commission of Codification.
He was a researcher and professor at universities in Mexico and Bogotá, vice president of the Ibero-American Institute of Procedural Law, and an honorary member of the Procedural Law Institutes of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico and Guatemala.
