Antonio López Gómez (Madrid, 1923 - Madrid, 2001). Reputed Spanish geographer and academic of the Royal Academy of History. He devoted his life to research and teaching, being a professor at the universities of Valencia, and the Autonomous University of Madrid, as well as general secretary of the Juan Sebastián Elcano Institute.
He was a disciple of Manuel de Terán Álvarez. He specialized in the study of climate and its consequences in agrarian geography. He also made numerous studies of the Valencian geography and on the contributions of important Spanish historical geographers and topographers for the geography of that country. He wrote numerous books such as Geography of the Valencian lands or Atlas of high school Aguilar, as well as numerous articles in the magazine Estudios Geográficos.
