Biographical outline:

Pere Pascual de Sans was born in Seville in 1934. He holds a degree in Physics in 1956 from the University of Barcelona and a PhD in 1959 from the University of Zaragoza, he teaches at the Universities of Barcelona and Complutense in Madrid, and as a researcher at the "Nuclear Energy Board".
In the years 1961-1962 he was a fellow and researcher associated with the Enrico Fermio Institute of the University of Chicago.

In 1963 he joined the Physics Section of the Faculty of Sciences as a full professor of Mathematical Physics, where he was at CERN, the European Laboratory for Particle Physics in Geneva.
He was the promoter and director of the Interuniversity Group of Theoretical Physics (GIFT), from 1970 to 1974.

From 1968 to 1983 he was a member of the working group formed by the Advisory Commission of Scientific and Technical Research (CAICYT) to develop the Mobilizing Plan for High Energy Physics, and in 1983 he participated in the steps for the entry of Spain as a member state of CERN.
From 1986 to 1992 he was a member of the Committee for the European Development of Science and Technology (CODEST).
In 1988 he joined the Secretary of State for Universities and Research as a scientific advisor and from 1995 he created and directed the Benasque Physics Center.
