The research by Professor Jorgenson has been developed in many different fields of economics, theoretical and applied. A good number of its works and initiatives deal with subjects of extraordinary relevance in the present society and have represented very important contributions for the understanding of the following problems: the role of the investment and its composition in the processes of growth; the importance of human capital and information technologies in the last decades; the influence of the imposition on investor behavior and the environment.

In his works the preoccupation to improve the instrumental as much theoretical as as statistical has been present of very striking way to base the analyzes on solid bases. He also stressed for his attention to transfer the results of the research to the public policies in the different thematic areas considered.

Also, Professor Jorgenson stands out for his capacity to lead major international projects of statistical and scientific cooperation, such as World KLEMS, present in five continents and more than 40 countries.
