Biographical outline:

Felipe Martínez Rizo (Aguascalientes, México, 1946) is professor in the department of education in the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes, in which he has had different positions of administration, among them, that of Principal. Since 2004 he is coordinator of the Interinstitutional Doctorate of Education, created by the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes in agreement with other fourteen institutions.

He has also been founder and general director of the Education National Institute of Mexico (2002-2008) and of the Latin American group of PISA.

He has obtained, among others, the ANUIES award (1995), the Anáhuac Medal in Education (2008), the COMIE Recognition to the achievements "Pablo Latapí Sarre" (2009) and the medal of the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences of the University of Valencia (2009).

Author of more than 55 books, 180 articles and chapters of book, his main works are addressed to the dynamisation of the educative improvement through assessment, distinguished by a strong social commitment, topics covered within his large task of communication in congresses, with more than 550 entries.
