Francisco Ayala was born in Madrid in 1934.
He studied Physics and Philosophy in Spain, and Genetics and Evolution in USA, where he moved in 1961.
He was lecturer in the University of California and scientific counsellor of Bill Clinton.
Ayala has made major contributions to the evolution's modern theory, as well as to the philophy of science and ethics His personal work includes both the theory and the experiment. Many young researchers all over the world have been formed in his laboratory.
