Oliver E. Williamson is a Professor of Business Administration, Economics and Law at the University of California, Berkeley. He is currently considered one of the most influential economists in social science research and the most relevant author in the field of the Economics of Organizations. His contributions not only cover the Economy, but also Sociology, Anthropology and Law. His prolific work is recorded in 6 books, around 150 articles and a whole series of published books and collections of articles.

In the field of economics, his contribution to the systematic treatment of transaction costs and to the analysis of the company's limits has been influential in the areas of general economy, organization of marketing and finance companies.
