Born in Valencia (1971). Professor Elena Martinezin the field of Procedural Law of the Department of Administrative and Procedural Law. Graduate in Law from the Universitat de València and apprentice of the Programme COMETT of the EU in Göttingen. She obtained the Extraordinary Doctorate Award. She has four five-year terms of certified teaching activity.

Her research is focused on five lines on gender violence, cross-border judicial cooperation in criminal matters in the EU, investigation and wrongfulness of the evidence, arbitration and mediation in conflict resolution and the protection of users and consumers. She has IP on four of these lines. She is director of the research group Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Gender Violence and manages agreements with the Observatory Against Domestic and Gender Violence, the Victims Office, the Bar Association of Valencia and the State Secretary for Research in the Ministry for Home Affairs. She is also copy editor of indexed journals and evaluator of projects and grants of the Generalitat de Catalunya. She has three six-year terms of certified research activity.

She has undertaken research stays in some centres abroad: Max-PlanckInstitut für Innovation und Wettbewerb, Swiss Institut for Comparative Law, World Intellectual Property Organization, New york University, Humboldt Universität Berlin, Tübingen Universität, Luidwigs-Maximilian Universität, Oxford University, Dubin University, Max-Planck-Institut für ausländisches und internationales Strafrecht. She also was grant holder of the Alexander von Humboldt from the Humboldt Stiftung and obtained the Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias Award.

She has been secretary of the Master’s Degree in Law, secretary of Department and founder of the university master in Law and Gender Violence. She was representative in the Faculty. She is a member of the Spanish Association of Procedural Law, the Spanish Association Alexander von Humboldt and Humboldt Alumni Association. Partner of “Escola de Pensament Feminista Amelia Valcárcel”, Association Doctors without Borders, Cristina Foundation against Cancer and the Organisation of Users and Consumers and usual collaborator of the Association Female Judges for Equity. She is currently feminist and single mother of two girls.
