The Universitat de València holds, October 16th-18th in La Nau Centre Cultural, the first FORTHEM meeting, the new strategical action of the Erasmus+ programme supported by the European Commission.

Universitat de València takes part in this university alliance with Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, University of Burgundy (France), University of Opole (Poland), the University of Jyväskylä (Finland), the University of Latvia and the University of Palermo in Italy.

This alliance of seven European universities called FORTHEM tries to develop the European citizenship’s concept inside diversity, multiculturalism and multilingualism with the aim of merging the various mobility agreements, research programs, and dual and multiparty arrangement of the partner universities into a Transnational Higher Education. The universities’ alliance will receive five million euros the next three years to carry out its goals.

In this sense, she has declared that “this project is the natural evolution of the ERASMUS project in all versions, but, especially, regarding to exchange students” and “as example of the European links’ long road, we want to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the link Universitat de València and Johannes-Gutenberg University of Mainz”.

FORTHEM is one of the 17 European projects accepted in the European Universities action. Universitat de València has been one of the 11 Spanish universities project accepted in the 2019 call and the only public institution in the Valencian Community.
