The Universitat hosts the first debate of the general elections on November 10th

The Matilde Salvador room of the historic building of La Nau has hosted, on Tuesday 29th, the first electoral debate of the upcoming general elections with the heads of political party posters by the district of València organized by the Spanish radio network, the Cadena Ser. Live video and audio signal has been produced by the Universitat de València Audiovisual Workshop (TAU).

The debate was moderated by the Regional Manager of the Cadena SER, Bernardo Guzmán, and was attended by candidates with current parliamentary representation.  Thus, for PSPV-PSOE, José Luis Ábalos attended; for PP, Belén Hoyo; for Ciudadanos, María Muñoz; for Unidas Podemos, Héctor Illueca; for Vox, Ignacio Gil Lázaro; and for Compromís, Joan Baldoví.

A large representation of the Universitat has been present in the debate led by the Principal Maria Vicenta Mestre; the Vice-Principal for Culture and Sport, Antonio Ariño; the Vice-Principal for Employment and Training Services, Adela Valero; the Vice-Principal for Economy, Justo Herrera; the General Manager, Juan Vicente Climent; and the Student Officer, Mercedes Elizalde.

The public was also attended by numerous political, economic and social agents of the Comunitat Valenciana (Valencia Region), such as the second vice-president of the Generalitat, Rubén Martínez Dalmau; the Secretary of State, Ana Botella; the Government delegate in the Comunitat Valenciana, Juan Carlos Fulgencio; the Deputy Mayor of València, Sergi Campillo; members of the Valencian Parliament and politicians such as Toni Cantó, Manolo Mata, José Muñoz and Àgueda Micó; union leaders such as Unai Sordo for Worker’s Commission and Arturo León for UGT (Unión General de Trabajadores, Worker’s General Union) and the president of the Confederación Empresarial de la Comunitat Valenciana (CEV, Business Confederation of the Comunitat Valenciana), Eva Blasco.

The Principal of the Universitat has pointed out that “we must be proud and proud that La Nau of the Universitat de València, the focal point of the culture of València, continues to have the confidence of the social and political fabric of València to host essential exercises of public information and the promotion of democratic attitudes such as electoral debates”.

This debate is in addition to the latest debates organised by Cadena SER, such as the regional, national, local and European elections held a few months ago, in which the Universitat de València played a key role in fitting out several spaces in the historic building of La Nau and producing the multilateral signal through the Universitat de València Audiovisual Workshop (TAU).
