UNESCO believes that intangible cultural heritage is a key factor for cultural diversity, environmental sustainability, creativity and encouraging dialogue between cultures. The Water Tribunal of the Plain of Valencia (Valencian: Tribunal de les Aigües de València) was inscribed in 2009 in the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO together with the Council of Wise Men of the Plain of Murcia (Spanish: Consejo de Hombres Buenos de la Huerta de Murcia), representing the irrigating courts of Mediterranean Spain, in the context of the first global call for applications.

On the tenth anniversary of the Tribunal of Waters as Intangible Heritage of Humanity (September 27, 2009), the The Tribunal of Waters and the Universitat de València have organized throughout 2019 several acts that seek to visualize this day's anniversaries.     On this matter, they have scheduled the Days on The Tribunal of Waters and its 10th Anniversary as Intangible Heritage of Humanity, in which professors from the Universitat de València, technicians from the Valencian government (Generalitat Valenciana) and the Tribunal of Waters will participate, all experts in the field.

The municipalities where these Days will take place are: Quart de Poblet, Llíria, Picanya and Alboraia
