November conferences on Manuel Broseta and Paquito el Xocolatero by Unisocietat

The variety in the titles responds to the wide diversity in knowledge fields that the Universitat de València includes in its programme Unisocietat. In this sense, Benetússer locals will be able to attend a conference on the history –truncated by terrorism– of some university members involved in politics. In Cullera, however, the musical piece originated in Cocentaina and world-wide exported will be analysed.

The 12 offices of Unisocietat hold these two conferences given by teaching and research staff from the Universitat de València during this month. The monthly series of presentations complement the academic year of Unisocietat and it is free entry for the locals of each town and the nearby. This initiative is economically supported by Caixa Popular.

The first conference will be held in Benetússer on Wednesday 7, in which Professor Marc Baldó (Department of Modern and Contemporary History) will give the talk University students and politicians of the consensus generation: three professors and victims of ETA (Manuel Broseta, Franciso Tomás y Valiente, Ernest Lluch).

On the next day, Thursday 8, there are two conferences scheduled. Professor Dolores Gil (Department of Evolution Psychology) will talk about the Women sexuality after the 50s in Requena. On the same day, in Ontinyent, Pura Peris (Department of Financial Law and Legal History) will give the conference Everything you’ve always wanted to know about taxes but you never askedthose interested in this field will have another chance to attend the conference of Professor Peris on November 20 in Alzira.

On November 14, Emili Aura (Department of Prehistory, Archaeology and Ancient History) will talk about How has the sea influenced in the Humanity in prehistorical times throughout the Earth?

On November 15, conferences are held in 3 different towns: Massamagrell, Paterna and Ontinyent. The first one will host Paz Lloria (Department of Criminal Law), who will share her studies on Technological crimes and social networks: the cybercrime. In the second one, Professor Ester Alba (Department of Art History) will focus on Valencian painting during Sorolla’s time: tradition and modernity. In the third one, Professor Gora Zaragoza (Department of English and German Philology) will give the conference We all should be feminists: strategies for an inclusive and equal use of language. Gora Zaragoza will give the same conference on equal language in Riba-roja on November 22.

On November 20, L’Eliana will host a conference on Healthy and sustainable diet for the 21st Century by Ana Frigola (Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Food Sciences, Toxicology and Forensic Medicine). On November 21, Professor Clara Martínez (Department of Administration Business ‘Juan José Renau Piqueras’) will demonstrate the link between Tourism and gastronomy in Quart de Poblet.

On November 27, Anaclet Pons (Department of Contemporary History) will talk about Paquito el Xocolatero, from Cocentaina to New York in charge of Unisocietat-Cullera. On the next day, full professor Antonio Briz (Department of Spanish Philology) will talk about an Efficient Communication. Pragmatics and communication in Gandia. On November 29, Professor Isabel Rodríguez (Department of Social Psychology) will give the last conference titled Stress: enemy or ally? in Requena.
