The pension system, pseudosciences and nutrition at the UNISOCIETAT conferences in April

This month, Benetússer, Alzira, l’Eliana, Massamagrell, Paterna, Riba-roja de Túria and Ontinyent host the presentation of multiple themes. These series of conferences is free and complements the academic courses of UNISOCIETAT and it has free access for the rest of the citizenship of every town and its surroundings.

The series of conferences of UNISOCIETAT will continue along the academic year until June, and has been organised by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Society and supported by the ‘Diputación de València’ and with the collaboration of the participant city halls and the economic support of Caixa Popular (in 9 headquearters), Caixa Ontinyent (in the headquarter of Ontinyent) and Banco Santander (in Gandia).

Next Tuesday, April 2, Cullera will host the conference ‘Microorganismos de andar por casa’ which will be given by the professor Hortensia Rico (Microbiology and Ecology Department). That same day, will also be the turn of Alzira, where Federico Pallardó will be welcomed (Fisiology Department) with his conference Los alimentos influyen en nuestros genes. Consejos de alimentación y hábitos de vida saludables.

Next Wednesday, April 3, Benetússer will host the talk Alternativas alrededor de las pensiones contributivas y no contributivas, given by María del Carmen García (Social Work and Social Services Department).

On Thursday, April 11, the cycle of conferences of Unisocietat will take place in three headquarters: Massamagrell, Paterna and Ontinyent. The Cultural Centre of Massamagrell will be the scenario for the conference of the professor Carlos Ochoando (Applied Economy Department), who will analyse Las últimas reformas del sistema de pensiones: efectos sobre la equidad y el bienestar. Jordi Solbes (Department of Experimental and Social Sciences Teaching) will be in Paterna with his conference El pensamiento crítico contra las pseudociencias. And the Cultural Centre of Caixa Popular will welcome the professor Virginia Pardo (Department of Administrative and Procedural Law) who will give the following conference: Derecho y globalización: la cooperación jurídica internacional en materia civil.

On April 15, the assembly hall of the Social Centre of Riba-roja de Túria will host the conference La empatía, entenderla para entender a los demás, given by Luis Moya Albiol (Psychobiology Department).

On Tuesday, April 16, L’Eliana will celebrate the last monthly conference of Unisocietat, Sexo, drogas y neuronas, which will be given by the professor Enrique Lanuza (Cellular Biology, Functional Biology and Physical Anthropology Department).

These meetings conducted by professors of the UV are a sample of the wide range of disciplines and scientific areas that the University of València gathers. The aim of this multidisciplinary talks is to complement the academic courses of the UNISOCIETAT programme, where there are more than 1.700 students enrolled for the 2018-2019 year.
