Riba-roja de Túria, new headquarters of UNISOCIETAT

Today, training and territorial programme of the Universitat de València is presented in the Riba-roja de Túria social centre, with the inaugural lecture by Professor Federico Pallardó. Classes will start in October, those interested can register until 20 July at the Riba-roja City Hall. The next academic year 2018/2019 UNISOCIETAT will be given in 12 Valencian towns.

The vice-principal of Territorial Projection and Society, Jorge Hermosilla; the mayor of Riba-roja de Túria, Robert Raga; the councillor for Education, Miquel Castillo; the coordinator of UNISOCIETAT and cap d’Iniciatives of this Office of the vice-principal, Ángel Morales; and the director of the office of Riba-Roja de Caixa Popular, Amparo traver; present this Thursday 7 June at 19:00h at the Social centre of Riba-roja the UNISOCIETAT programme, that will begin classes in October. Afterwards, Professor Federico Pallardó (Department of Physiology) will give the lecture  Food that influence our genes. Eating tips and healthy lifestyle habits. This conference is free of charge for all citizenship and pretends to be a preview of what UNISOCIETAT students will be able to learn throughout the course.

The UNISOCIETAT programme, aimed at people over 30, consists of a multidisciplinary itinerary composed of three courses with a duration of 120 hours each. It includes varied subjects which are always taught by professors from the Universitat de València. Next academic year 2018/2019 first grade students will study the subjects of Ecology and Climate Change, Nutrition, Music and Psychology. In addition to the 120 teaching hours of compulsory subjects, UNISOCIETAT complements the course offering monthly talks of free entry to the general public, as well as trips and complementary activities that will allow them to get to know some areas of the Valencian territory.

UNISOCIETAT is introduced in Riba-roja de Túria by the collaboration between the Universitat de València, the Office of the vice-principal for Territorial Projection and Society, the City Hall of this town of Camp de Túria, and the sponsorship of Caixa Popular. This university territorial project will be given next academic course in 12 Valencian towns. It has the participation of two hundred professors from the Universitat de València and more than 1.500 students.

The period to formalize the pre-registration in UNISOCIETAT has already been opened in practically all headquarters. Those interested in receiving classes in Bétera can pre-register until June 29th at the local town hall;  in l'Eliana can do it until 9 July, at the Municipal Centre for the Formation of Adults; in Cullera, until 15 July in the Casa de la Cultura; in Massamagrell and Riba-roja, until 20 July in the Massamagrell municipal cultural centre and in the Riba-roja Town Hall, respectively; in Paterna, until the 23rd of the same month in its Consistory; in the town councils of Benetússer and Requena the registration can be formalized until the 25th of July; in Alzira and Quart de Poblet, until the 27th, also in their respective town halls; and in Gandia until the 31st of July, in the International Centre of Gandia of the UV. Ontinyent is the only headquarters that has not yet open its registration period, that will be from 2nd to 13th July in the Campus d’Ontinyent.
