Les exposicions sobre Patrimoni i Festes arriben a Aiora i Gandia

The exhibition ‘The Valencian Cultural Heritage’ can be visited from 29th September to 17th October in the Cultural Centre of Ayora. The exhibition ‘Traditional Celebrations in the Valencian Territory’ is open from Thursday 5th October to 3rd November in Gandia.

Both exhibitions are born thanks to the initiative of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation of the Universitat de València and have become real thanks to the sponsorship of Caixa Popular and the General Direction for Culture and Heritage of the Counsellor of Education, Research, Culture and Sport. These exhibitions aim to bring closer the festive heritage as well as the historic-cultural wealth and the audiovisual, natural, cultural, musical or artistic heritage of our territory.

The exhibition ‘Traditional Celebrations in the Valencian Territory’ is the result of joint work and cooperation of several Valencian Town Councils since most of the graphic material of the expositive panels have been given by the different town councils, institutions and associations of the Valencian territory. The maps and the texts that accompany the boards have been elaborated by the technical team of the Support Unit of the Office of the vice-principal based on the 4 volumes of the publication ‘Calendario de fiestas de la Comunidad Valenciana’, a project directed by Antonio Ariño and Vicente L. Salavert (Universitat de València).

On the other hand, the texts of the exhibition ‘The Valencian Cultural Heritage’ have been written by more than 20 experts of the UV in fields such as history, archaeology, sociology, geography and art. The exhibition address the wealthy Valencian heritage from a multidisciplinary and plural perspective and its starting point is the ‘Atlas del Patrimonio Cultural Valenciano’ published in 2010.
