The University will be a host from the 3rd until the 5th of October of the international congress “La rebelión global de los estudiantes durante el largo 68 – Simposio de Historia de la Educación”. The meeting will be hold in the Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Sciences and over a hundred experts from 14 countries will participate.
The worldwide university student movements which took place during 1968 reflected the chances and new social and cultural movements happening in the moment. Fifty years later, the University of Valencia holds a symposium to reflect and exchange ideas amongst researchers from different places and historiographical schools of thought on 1968 student action.
During the conferences, coordinated by professor Andrés Payà, these issues amongst others will be analysed: the impact and mark of the rebellion, the educational dimension of the university youth, women as a protagonist of 68’, young cultures and counter-cultures, political and pegaogical undertone or the international exchanges of the international student movements.
On the other hand, the film season “La revolta mediàtica. Maig 68” has been organised along with the University Cinema Club. The different movies on this theme will be screened in the Rector Peset Hall of Residence.
