
80 athletes from 32 universities competed in the 2022 CEU of weightlifting celebrated in Murcia.
The best university weightlifting athletes of the country gathered on 6 and 7 May in Los Alcázeres (Murcia) for the Weightlifting University Spanish Championship, organized by the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
Natalia Galindo Campos obtained the third place in the 55 kilos category with a total of 101 kg (45 kg in snatch and 56 kg in clean and jerk). Natalia is a fourth year student of the Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences in the Universitat de València, and has been training with the Weightlifting Club of Sagunto for a couple of years. “I still have a long way to go and a lot to improve technically”, says Natalia. but at 22 years old she is clear about the three keys to excel in any sport: “there is nothing that can’t be achieved with motivation, concentration and perseverance” three qualities that she has plenty of.
Also competing in the national tournament was Natalia Millán Isasi, who achieved a meritorious fifth place in the 49 kg category with a Olympic Weightlifting Total of 86 kg. And Diego José Lloria Albiñada, who achieved a tenth place in the 81 kg category, with 96 kg in snatch and 110 in clean and jerk. The Universitat de València team was accompanied by their coach Pablo Gallach Moreno from the Valencia Weightlifting Club.
