Powerchair football takes centre stage at the UV Sports Centre of Blasco

The UV Sports Centre at Blasco Ibañez Campus hosted on the last Saturday 13 an intense powerchair football match day (Powerchair Football), a discipline that continues to grow and to prove that sports are a fundamental tool for inclusion, participation and equal opportunities.

During the match day, the participating teams played matches full of emotion, competitiveness, and sportsmanship, displaying the level of technique and tactic that characterises this modality. The players put in practice game strategies, precision in ball control and excellent collective coordination, essential aspects of a sport that combines ability, technology and teamwork.


The attendees had the chance to get to know powerchair football up close, an adapted sport modality that continues to reinforce itself thanks to the efforts of the clubs, athletes, and entities committed to promoting of inclusive sports. The intensity of the confrontations and the commitment shown by the participants caused the admiration by the public present. 


Beyond the competition, the match day stood out due to the values that were transmitted: respect, overcoming, camaraderie, and inclusion. Such activities contribute to give visibility to adapted sports and sensitise society on the importance of building accessible environments where everyone can participate in physical activities and develop personally through sport.


The competition concluded with an excellent atmosphere of coexistence among athletes, relatives, volunteers and fans, leaving once again proof of the growth and the impact of powerchair football. A day match that served the purpose of continuing to push forward said discipline and of proving that sports are a space for meeting, effort, and opportunities for everyone.
