All the Spanish universities will be invited to take part in these days driven by the Conference of the Principals of the Spanish Universities (CRUE), so as to discuss sport in our country’s universities.
The Universitat de València will be the hostess of the 2022 edition of the National University Sport Days (JNDU), which each year are organised in a different university of the CRUE. Taking advantage of this meeting, the National Sports Council (CSD) will also prepare the plenary session of the CEDU (Spanish Committee for University Sports).
The event will take place on 13 and 14 December, in the Faculty of Geography and History in the culture centre La Nau. In addition, a healthy stroll and a cultural visit has been organised. In this way, participants will be able to know first-hand the city of Valencia and its aptitude for doing sport.
The aim of these days is bringing together the institutional leaders and sports services professionals of the vast majority of Spanish universities so as to address the more relevant challenges for universities in terms of Spanish university competitions, promotion, development, organisation and the management of physical activities in university.
The discussion will be carried out simultaneously through several round tables and will cover two key themes. On one hand, experts will cover the tendencies in internal university competitions, will analyse the Spanish university competitions, will share competitions models at regional level, and will assess the participation of Spanish universities in both, the international competitions of the European University Sports Association (EUSA), and the International University Sports Federation (FISU).
On the other hand, the discussion not only will check the quality management systems of the sports services in universities, but it will also cover the importance of physical activity in Spanish universities promotion. In addition, it will be studied the cooperation with the Spanish Network of Healthy Universities (REUS) and will share experiences and good practices in cooperation and volunteering through university sport.
The conclusions of the National University Sport Days will be shared on 14 December in the Paraninfo (Main Hall) of the Nau of the Universitat de València. In the same location it will also be organised the plenary session of the Spanish Committee for University Sports, where all the Spanish universities have been called. Its Agenda include a presentation of the activities done in 2022, a review of the Spanish University Competitions, and it will cover the University Sport Activities programme for 2023, among other aspects.
